Back to School and everything else

I am blogging in my sleep-lol, is there really such a thing as sleep blogging-but my kids are all down for the night and I think I'll update a bit. Insomnia is so much fun.I'm glad its the weekend or i'd have to take something to go to sleep. Both my schoolage kids are back in school. The oldest-13- is in middle school at a public school and my younger one is homeschooling. We joined a neat homeschooling group that does field trips and enrichment classes and all that.Jesse is taking karate and a Bible class with them this semester, he really enjoys it-but hopefully I won't kill myself trying to practice his moves for class with him-the only belt this mom has is a black and blue belt, meaning I get black and blue when i try to do karate-haha. I'd let his brother do his practicing with him but he is a lot bigger and tends to get carried away and forget that he's a lot bigger than Jesse. Junior has joined the band and is learning to play the trombone-my poor ears.I like the new neighborhood but wish I could get to know more people. We've started going to a church not very far away and the people are all very nice there.Jr likes being in the youth group and they have a lot of activities for the younger kids too-so I think we're starting to fit in around here.It sure has rained a lot in the past couple of weeks.I think north Mississippi is having a monsoon season.Tommorrows supposed to be sunny tho'. I like a sunny saturday, don't you? well I think i'll say bye for now and try to get a little shut eye before it turns into morning.

  • Apologies

Wow, it's been a while since I xanga'd. I went a while while I was busy and depressed and overwhelmed by life in general.Things are more on an even keel now so hopefully I'll be blogging more---- Let's see, what's new ? my house for one thing-- I've moved almost all the way back to my homestate of Tennessee, it's a lovely house, all brick, nice fireplace in the great room and now my kids both have their on bedrooms so that cut out a lot of brotherly bickering- all you moms out there will know what I mean by this.If I get a digital camera with a computer cable I'll post some pics--I've got a birthday comng up and i've been hinting around that thats what I want. Had a good summer ,we got to go to the beach and I just love the ocean, probably would have stayed longer but my hubby got sick so we had to get back home. I can't beleve its already Labor Day and summers over - i love the lazy days of summer ,but homeschooling this year will be a new adventure. My older son who goes to regulatr middle school is in the band for the first time this year-would somebody pleaz buy me some earplugs- learning a new instrument means a whlole lotta honking around the house.lol.Hope everybody out there has a nice Labor Day, question, why do they call it Labor Day when work is the last thing you think about doing on it? funny huh. I'm going to concentrate on not doing too much of anything tommorrow myself- anyway have fun !

  • January blahs

I titled this blog the blahs because I definitely have a case of them and the prozac the dr prescribed isn't helping much.I've ran out of money before I've run out of month too so that isn't helping matters.Maybe I should homeschool the kids instead of paying rediculous prices the top of everymonth for them to stay at the private school they go to.But I really want to tough it out the rest of this school year so they don't have to change in the middle of a school year.My youngest one would be devastated because he has been in the same lady's class for two years.Miss Betty is the kindergarten and first grade teacher in the christian school they both go to and all the kids+ moms too ,love her.I just don't know,I've got two blogfriends that are homeschooling and it's working out really good for them. What should I do.Anybody with any good ideas feel free to answer.I need to learn how to not spend so much money.Sounds impossible but maybe not.I hate this economy!maybe I'll feel better tommorrow.

  • Happy New Year !

Bonne anee noveau everybody! did I say that right in French? I only took a couple of years in high school and that's been many moons ago.I think that's going to be one of my new year's resolutions to learn another language this year.I haven't had time to sit down and really think up anything yet.Well, how was evwrybody's Christmas? I did'nt have time to even sit down and blog the whole month of December.I was like sooo busy, what with helping out with school and kid's choir at church;their Christmas program went off so beautifully and they were all so cute all dressed up for Christmas. The last week of school they did a fun day and had a holiday cooking class for the kids and games and movies for them to watch when we ran out of everything else to do.I went and helped and it was a lot of fun.My husband's been sick.He had to have a heart catherization last Monday right after Christmas weekend;we talked his dr into waiting until after Christmas; and they placed two stints in his legs after doing balloon angiography, hard terminology for me to say not having a medical background but I'm reading up and learning about a lot of this stuff. He's doing ok pretty much now but he's still real sore. And then there's Christmas day, Santa came of course,he always does and the boys got lots of toys and my dog Lady got a stocking of treats too. That was the first half of the day,it was great and then there's dinner.I cooked my family's Christmas supper at my house so I was running around grabbing up wrapping paper and making the kids put toys back in their bedrooms and cooking too.All I burned was the marshmallows a little on top of the sweet potato casserole so that's a wonder! Had a ham and a roast instead of a turkey so I did'nt have to stay up X-mas eve nite doing obscene things to a turkey again.lol.Anyway my mom and dad and brother and grown daughters came over, also my sister in-law, and mom accidently tripped, accidently like she would do it on purpse ha,that's why they call accidents accidents.Anyway, she was coming in the loving room door and fell on the step thing and it broke her ankle. I felt so bad! So I spent Christmas night up at the hospital getting her seen about and she was apologizing the whole time about ruining our Christmas and I'm sitting there like Mom,it's not your fault you fell and got hurt.I felt so awful about her getting hurt.Anyway other than all that ours holidays were good. The boys shot some fireworks last night and we stayed up till midnight to see the new year in.Jesse helped me do some New Years cupcakes and we decorated them with sprinkles to look like fireworks and then we put them on a platter and lit a real sparkler in the middle of them for dessert last night.Well, that's all for now and I just had company come over so to everyone I wish you a great 2009!
